Al Gharb Cattery

Turkish Angora cats

Our First Litter

Em Português

Though there were some Angora cats  in Portugal, the real Turkish Angora cats were not known.
That's why we had to import Ophelia, Olivia and Claudius from Holland and Finland.
Turkish Angora are wonderful cats. Very bright and athletic.
Life with them is never dull or monotonous!
You can see the history of that old breed in:
http://www.petplanet.nl/TUA/history/english.html
You can find the standard of that breed at:

The 20th November 1998, our Ophelia d'Inchmahome that came from the Netherlands in October/97 gave birth to her first babies.

Sire was Claudius de Nazarlik, a very sweet and beautiful young cat, that come from Finland in August/98

These kittens are a real delight. Here they are 3 weeks old.

Here they are 24 days old and they are already playing a lot.

Ophelia is always taking care of the babies

One day, aunt Olivia decided to share her sister responsabilities...

Kittens grow up very fast! So, one should always be making new photos and new films about them.
Here you have some of the latest photos we got!

Altiva & Alícia greeting the new year!

Here is our little boy, Amadeus and his beautiful odd eyes.

Amadeus has a wonderful tail, big and tuffy ears, just like a Turkish Angora baby should be!

Now he is such a big and handsome boy!

This one is Altiva. She is such a clever girl!

This is the last photograph we got of her and of her wonderful blue eyes.

Aïxa has always been very, very beautiful . It seems that the judges think the same way!

Now she is just gorgeous!

Altiva and Aïxa went to their first exposition at Madrid, the 17th April 1999.
Aïxa got a Best in Show in kitten (3-6 month) category.
Next you can see Catherine, her daughter and Aïxa at the show.

This one is Alícia (Amarilis, formosa Amarillyda, for my husband!).
Her black spot is going to disappear, as happened with Ophelia. She is the most sweet girl in the litter.
She  found a new home of very loving people and she is living near us.

If you are interested in one kitten from our cattery , please contact us! We had a new litter from Ophelia the 17th December 2000.
